POLL: First Half of 2023 — The Best Films

Our members were polled about their favorite films from 2023 thus far (released theatrically in the US between January 1st and June 30th). Each was asked to submit an unranked list of no more than ten films. Check out those individual submissions below to see what we think you should keep on your radar individually.

Here are the overall results:

Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson’s Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (June 2nd) takes the number one spot with 8 votes from the ten critics who submitted a list. Second place goes to Celine Song’s Past Lives (June 30th) with 6 votes as Kelly Fremon Craig’s Are You There God? It’s Me Margaret. (April 28th) follows closely behind with 5 votes for third. And with three titles earning 4 and four titles earning 3, we have ourselves a full top ten.
